Rachelle M. Lanciano, MD

Dr. Lanciano is the Chief of the Radiation Oncology Department at Delaware County Memorial Hospital. She received her medical degree from the Medical College of Pennsylvania and completed her residency in radiation oncology at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. She became board-certified in radiation oncology in 1987. She developed her reputation for clinical excellence and research during her eight years at the Fox Chase Cancer Center.

Dr. Lanciano has developed the intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) program at DCMH and implemented CAT scan and MRI based treatment planning. She has premium access to national trials of radiation through the Radiation Therapy Oncology Group (RTOG) and Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group (ECOG). She sub-specializes in genitourinary, gastrointestinal, and lung cancers and is a national expert in cervical, endometrial, and ovarian cancers. Dr. Lanciano is the principal investigator in a completed national trial in the GOG, which studied the benefit of various chemotherapy agents and radiation for advanced cervical cancer. She has been named as one of the top doctors in the region by Philadelphia Magazine. Her interests include radiosurgery for brain, lung, and liver metastases; primary lung and gastrointestinal malignancies; as well as liver and pancreatico-biliary cancers.
